E. E. Slutsky / W. Bortkiewicz: correspondence 1923-1928
Antiquitates Mathematicae, Tome 5 (2011).
The eleven extant letters of the correspondence between Evgeny Evgenievich Slutsky (1880-1948) and Vladislav Iosifovich Bortkevich, or Władysław Bortkiewicz (1868-1931) that have survived in the Bortkiewicz papers deposited at Uppsala University and were discovered there by Mag. Guido Rauscher are presented. Slutsky (in part) and Bortkiewicz (consistently) adhered to the old Russian orthography that was drastically changed in 1917-1918. The Bortkiewicz letters shown here obviously were drafts. Their reading is difficult and the authors were unable to decipher some words.
